Wilshere wins PFA Young Player award

Jack Wilshere has been named as the 2011 PFA Young Player of the Year.
The 19-year-old is enjoying a wonderful season for both club and county and has become one of the brightest talents in the English game.

Jack has established himself as a first-team regular at Emirates Stadium, making 42 appearances and producing performances beyond his years as a virtual ever-present in the Arsenal midfield.

For England, Jack made his senior debut in August last year during a friendly against Hungary at Wembley, becoming the Three Lions' tenth youngest ever player.

Jack becomes the fifth Arsenal player to win this award after Tony Adams (1987), Paul Merson (1989), Nicolas Anelka (1999) and Cesc Fabregas (2008).

Wilshere and fellow nominee Samir Nasri were joined in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year by their Arsenal team-mate, Bacary Sagna.

Team of the Year: Van Der Sar (Man Utd), Sagna (Arsenal), Cole (Chelsea), Vidic (Man Utd), Kompany (Man City), Nani (Man Utd), Nasri (Arsenal), Wilshere (Arsenal), Bale (Tottenham), Tevez (Man City), Berbatov (Man Utd).
