Nasri and Wilshere up for PFA awards.

Samir Nasri has been nominated for the 2011 PFA Player of the Year award.

The French midfielder has been in tremendous form for Arsène Wenger’s side this season, scoring 14 goals in 33 starts.

Samir has been the back bone of Arsenal this season in the absence of Cesc Fabregas thanks to injury. Nasri has been on top of his game since this campaign began and he has maintained a very good Level of form till now. He has been one of the best players in an Arsenal shirt this season.

Samir began the campaign superbly and his two penalties during extra time in the Carling Cup against Tottenham won Arsenal the tie. He was named the PFA Fans' Player of the Month for October after three goals in five appearances and ended the year with two wonderful solo efforts against Fulham.

Samir was again named the PFA Fans' Player of the Month for January and set up Andrey Arshavin’s 83rd-minute winner against Barcelona on an historic night at Emirates in February.

PFA Chief Executive Gordon Taylor said: "He [Nasri] has scored some wonderful, individual goals and his skill and ability to create openings almost from nothing make him quite special. As Arsène Wenger says, there is even more to come from him.

"He seems to have relished the extra responsibility placed upon him when Cesc Fabregas has not been fit. He’s a similar player to Cesc, and revels in a central role where he has become Arsenal’s main man.”

Nasri, along with team-mate Jack Wilshere, is also nominated for the Young Player of the Year award.

Jack Wilshere has been a revelation this season. For me, one of the best midfielders in the premier league this season and maybe I’m a bit biased here but I think Wilshere is the best young  player in the world right now.

Jacks’ play on the field bellies his age, for heaven’s sake that dude is just 19. He plays like a midfielder with years of experience. His confidence is 100%! Never afraid to go in for the  tackle and stands up to players twice his age when he feels he or anyone of his team mates have been badly tackled. That for me is the character of a leader.

Nasri and Wilshere both deserve this nominations and I wish them all the best. It would be great to pick these awards after winning the EPL. *Big grin*
